What happens at a dance class

• If there is a Bar at the venue, buy a drink - you will need a drink coz you will get hot in class - and it is a good place to watch what everyone else is doing!
• When you get to the dance floor, put your bag / coat down somewhere where you can see it
• The class begins with a warm up; you'll be shown how to do some steps taken from whatever dance is being taught in the class. These are called 'shines'
• You'll have a chance to practice the steps to music
• Dancers will be asked to find a partner (partners are rotated at Infinity Salsa classes) and then the class is taught some moves with a partner
• Either the ladies or the guys are asked to move around to their next partner in the circle / room
• BTW - You don't need to bring a partner to the class
• The teacher will play music during the lesson so that you can practice dancing the steps
• There should be times when the teacher will ask for questions about anything you don't understand - otherwise shout out (nicely)!
• After the class, ask people to dance with you so that you can practice the new moves
